On Wednesday 15/5/2019, His Excellency the Minister of Finance, Dr. Ezzedine Knakeriya, visited the General Budget Department and met His Excellency Director General of the General Budget Department and a number of GBD’s senior employees, His Excellency touched upon a number of issues the most important of which was reviewing the most significant developments to implement budget 2019 and implement the decision of the Cabinet to reduce expenditures of all Ministries and Government Departments and starting preparation for budget 2020 and His Excellency the Acting Director General of the Budget stressed that the Department follows up the implementation of budget 2019 and makes sure the implementation of the Cabinet’s decisions. Furthermore, the department started to prepare for the budget 2020 through the preparation of the initial circular for budget 2020 containing the initial ceilings for all ministries and government departments in addition to the ceilings of governorates. 

On the other hand, His Excellency the Minister drew attention to the importance of integrating the Government institutions and units in the General Budget Law in addition to the importance of continuously developing the ROB methodology and working on the Government Financial Information Management System(GFMIS).

His Excellency expressed satisfaction and appreciation for the extraordinary efforts made in the preparation of the general budget and the manpower tables of the ministries and government departments.
