The Council of Ministers in its session held on Wednesday November 13, 2013 approved the General Budget Draft Law and the Government Units Budgets Draft Law for fiscal year 2014.

Noting that, the total amount of the public expenditures summed up to JD 8096 million in the General Budget Draft Law for the year 2014, whereby JD 6828 million were allocated to current expenditures and JD 1268 million were allocated for capital expenditures.

Whereas Public Revenues summed up to JD 6982 million divided as follows; JD 5831 million domestic revenues and JD 1151 million of foreign grants.

Accordingly, the General Budget deficit for the year 2014 was JD 9111.4 million, which equals (4.3%) of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

As for the Government Units Budgets Draft Law for the fiscal year 2014, total revenues were estimated to reach JD 710 million, while expenditures were estimated to reach JD 1829 million, with a total net deficit before financing reaching up to JD 119 million.

It is worth noting that the abovementioned Draft Laws will be sent to the Parliament in order to approve them following the proper constitutional stages.
