The Ministers Council in its session held on Thursday November 17th, 2016 approved The Draft of General Budget law and The Draft of Government Units Budgets law for the fiscal year 2017.

Noting that, the total amount of the public expenditures summed up to JD (8946.3) Million in The Draft of General Budget law for the year 2017, whereby JD (7629.5) Million were allocated to current expenditures and JD (1316.9) Million were allocated for capital expenditures.

Whereas Public Revenues summed up to JD (8119) Million divided as follows; JD (7342) Million of domestic revenues and JD (777) Million of foreign grants.

Accordingly, the Budget Deficit for the year 2017 will be JD (827.3) Million, which equals (2.8%) of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

As for the Draft of Government Units Budgets law for the fiscal year 2017, total revenues are estimated to reach JD (1665.8) Million, while expenditures are estimated to reach JD (1782) Million, with a total net deficit before financing  reaching up to JD (116.1) Million.

It is worth noting that the abovementioned Draft Laws have been sent to the Parliament in order to go through the constitutional procedures for approval.
